Guest Manual

House Rules

  • No smoking.

  • If you break something, you will be expected to pay for it.

  • Please don’t steal. Duh. We inventory every single item in the house before and after your arrival, but we really prefer the honor system. We are creating a community and are hopeful our guests will add—not take away—from that.

  • Please avoid heavy perfumes or cologne out of respect for our guests with allergies.

  • We have cameras around the outside of the house. That isn’t a rule, but we know you’ll be looking at these and we want you to know.

Upon Leaving

  • Checkout is 11am.

  • Strip the beds and leave linens / towels in the laundry bag behind the bedroom doors if you are on the main floor, or in the basket in the bedroom closet upstairs.

  • If you used Kantha Blankets to cover the furniture, please put them by the door to the basement so we can wash them.

  • Take trash / recycling and put it in the cans outside. Garbage gets bagged. Recyclables can be free range.

  • Please choose a colored tag on our guest book wall to sign and arrange back on a hook.

  • Don’t forget your purchases!

There is 24/7 monitoring of smoke and carbon monoxide by New England Alarm Company.

TRASH / RECYCLING

Cans are on the side of the house. There are two single-stream recycling cans and one trash can. You do not need to bag recyclables, but you do have to bag garbage.

Trash is picked up on Tuesdays. Cans are rolled to the grass on the other side of the sidewalk to the left of the driveway. Recycling is every other week. Message us if you need to put them out and we will tell you if it’s a recycling week.

PARKING

  • Be careful pulling out of the driveway. The neighbors across the way have a lot of kiddos and cars. They need to park on the street and sometimes that means right behind the driveway.

  • The garage is just for owners; however, please email info@thehouseofid.com to discuss use of the garage in an emergency.

  • There is driveway parking and street parking.

  • There is a bright green cone at the bottom of the stairs to mark the beginning of the chairlift. Please be sure you don’t hit it!

  • Service dogs are free. We do charge $100 per stay for up to two non-service dogs. If we don’t need to use the fee to clean up after your pup(s), we will refund it.

  • No dogs on uncovered furniture or bedding. We have Kantha blankets for you to use located in the family room.

  • If you are going out and leaving your dog in the house, please keep him/her in the Queen bedroom on the main floor. We have kept the art off the floor in there and there is no rug. If they are able to jump on the bed, please cover it with a Kantha blanket.
