The Who is You
You know those videos people post about going into their Airbnb’s after their guests leave? We love those, but not for the same reasons the rest of the public enjoys them. For us, it’s not schadenfreude, it's WHEW!
We don’t have guests who leave behind Prada sunglasses with unidentifiable sticky stuff on them, take our toilet paper, or pee in the corners of the bedrooms.
So who does come to id and why?
We are so glad you asked:
- Three generations of women; a mom with a terminal illness who needed first floor living brought her daughter, granddaughter and pup.
- A group of gals attending the P!nk concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough
- A family in our town who had a tree fall on their house and needed shelter for themselves and their three dogs
- Out of town guests attending a funeral and sitting shiva in the next town over (we stretched our occupancy rules from 5 to 9! to allow the whole family to stay together)
- A family from Brazil whose kiddos were attending summer camp in the states
- A content creator who brought her clients to photograph in our quirky space
- A woman who brought her brother, who lives in a group home locally, as a way to make his birthday special without tiring him out
- A mom-to-be who hosted her baby shower at id. We loved how she used the art and furniture to stage the event!
- A family from China visiting Boston for the first time. The boxes they left peeking out from the overflowing recycling bin indicated that they had a VERY good time on Newbury Street.
- A husband surprising his artist wife with a weekend away from the kids to allow her to create in solitude
- A trio of chosen family members who wanted an inclusive space to celebrate their birthdays
- A mom dropping her son off at school in Boston. She asked to use our garage because all of her sons' prized possessions were in her van:)
- A maid of honor who hosted a weekend long bridal shower
- A family whose dad was recovering from back surgery and needed a place with a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and living room all on one floor
- Best friends who rented the space for two hours just to shop our vintage treasures
Oh - and occasionally we have guests who just find us on Airbnb because we are close to Boston and they need a place to stay. We get some of our FAVORITE reviews from unsuspecting men (winky face emoji)
These guests, and the dozens of others we have hosted in our first year, have helped us to create the community we envisioned when we started this adventure.
So come on over. Bring your people, your dogs, and your desire to be part of something wonderful…and maybe an extra suitcase.
